Location troubleshooting

• Confirm location sharing is enabled inside 1UpFam.
• Allow precise location and background location in the phone's app settings.
• On Android, keep the 1UpFam location-service notification enabled.
• Open the app after installing an update so background sharing can restart.
• In Profile, open Settings and expand Location Health to check this phone's permissions, background task, and recent reporting. Tap Refresh after changing a phone setting.

When a phone cannot publish a new position, the map keeps its last known location and shows its age instead of presenting it as live.

If another member has a recent reporting problem, tap Phone report beside their name in People to read the complete report. It may already be resolved.

Home-screen widgets (Android)

• Hold an empty spot on your home screen, choose Widgets, then 1UpFam. There are three: one family member, the family at a glance, and a Directions Home button.
• Widgets refresh on their own about every half hour, whenever you open the app, and immediately when you tap the ↻ in their corner — so a widget can honestly be a few minutes behind the map. Every entry shows how old it is. If a widget can't refresh for six hours, it stops showing people and says so until it can.
• The Directions Home widget opens the app for a moment, then starts directions to your house — walking directions when you're close — and quietly lets your household know you asked.

Chat

• Everyone reaches the whole family group. Household is visible only to your current household.
• Hold any message to react with ❤️ 👍 😂 🙏 — tap the same one again to take it back.
• When you're away from home, an "On my way home" button appears above the Household message box. One tap sends the message with roughly how far out you are.

Family Owner and households

• One Family Owner manages households and replaces the private family invite code.
• The Family Owner can also remove a member who has stopped using the app; their sign-in keeps working and rejoining takes the family invite code.
• To join a household, open Profile and tap Join beside it. Leave your current household before joining a different one.
• Each household sets its own home in Profile → Settings. Directions Home and the distance shown in People use that member's household home.
• Announcements and What's New can appear together at the top of every signed-in screen; dismiss each independently. Announcements expire after seven days.
• Only the app owner can send announcements, shown as Admin. These reach every signed-in user, including users without a family. A phone needs notification permission to receive the generic lock-screen alert.
